The design for Maria and Asim's residence refines the notion of a dwelling through the interplay of solids and voids, offering a balance of introverted and extroverted elements to the exterior. The massing of the structure maintains the privacy of the inside while keeping it connecting with the outdoor fabric. Simultaneously, the materiality of the facade integrates different textures holistically, from fair-faced greys to white polished finishes, maintaining a visual balance. The varying and complementary materials and masses combine seamlessly in order to invite the inhabitant and greet the stranger.
